The 'Fashion Design Course' is designed for young people who love fashion and would like an introduction into the world of fashion design.
In this innovative course, you'll delve deep into the exciting realms of fashion drawing, garment design, and creative expression. From learning the art of sketching fashion figures to bringing your unique design visions to life, each lesson is crafted to ignite your imagination and nurture your passion for fashion.
The Fashion Design Course for Teens will cover the following topics:
- Discover the importance of fashion drawing in the industry
- Learn about different types of fashion drawing and develop your unique style
- Hone your skills in sketching the female figure
- How to put together a fashion mood board to boost your designs
- Dive into drawing the standard croqui/model and perfecting proportions
- Explore the world of color and experiment with different artistic mediums
- Learn to draw figures in your own unique style and various poses
- Start bringing your designs to life by incorporating garments and intricate details
- Learning how to draw garments in motion and experiment with different garment styles for example sleeves, necklines, ruffles and more
- Discover how to add depth and personality to your designs through prints, patterns, and textures
- Bring everything together and create a mini fashion collection inspired by your own mood board
- Mode of Study: Once weekly (2 hours per lesson)
- Duration: 10 lessons
- Location: Art Academy Mosta (131 Constitution Street, Mosta, Malta) or Art Academy Zurrieq (88, Triq Matteolo Saliba, Zurrieq)
- What’s Included: Hands-on teaching, Powerpoint Presentations, Handouts, individual attention.
- Requirements: Students will need to bring their own art materials
- Certification: Upon attendance of 80% of the Course, students will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance and will be accredited for their Informal Learning and given a signed and stamped form for their Informal Education by the Institute.

Course Funding
Tax Deduction on Fees paid for Cultural and Creative Courses:
Parents of children under 16 who attended any Cultural or Creative courses at Art Academy are eligible for a tax deduction scheme of up to a maximum of €300 for each child. Parents are entitled to claim a deduction against their chargeable income of up to a maximum of €300 for each child.
You don't need to do anything, we will apply for you after the completion of the course.
